On March 1st 2019, longstanding AIFL board member, Josh Weston lead his eighth business delegation to Israel. In line with the legacy of previous delegations, he was accompanied by a group of business leaders from representing a broad spectrum of professional arenas including academia, finance, high tech, non-profit and energy sectors. This year’s delegation also featured the participation of AIFL’s new President, Jonathan Barsade who experienced firsthand the knowledge and expertise that make our leadership delegations a resounding success.
There were eighteen participants on the delegation including Weston and Barsade who gained a snapshot of various facets of the start-up nation, Israeli society and democracy. They enjoyed Shabbat dinner with military experts, met with innovators in STEM education, experienced pioneering technology to assist the visually impaired at OrCam, had discussions with experts in political science such as, Prof. Shlomo Avineri and were briefed by visionary Palestinian entrepreneur, Bashar Masri. Participants also had the opportunity to visit traditional historic and religious sites during their stay before returning to the US.
