Founding Father: A Biographical Trilogy of Chaim Weizmann

Who was Dr. Chaim Weizmann? Professor Jehuda Reinharz and his co-author, Professor Motti Golani, have just completed the third book in their biographical trilogy about this historic figure.

Dr. Viola Rautenberg of the University of Haifa will moderate an engaging conversation with these two top scholars about the first President of the State of Israel, who was a Russian-born biochemist, a Zionist leader and an Israeli statesman. It was, in fact, Weizmann who convinced the United States government to formally recognize the newly formed State of Israel.

Among the questions they will explore are:

  • Why would one argue that without Weizmann, there would be no State of Israel?
  • Who was the politician Weizmann vs. the person Weizmann?
  • Why is Weizmann “forgotten”?
