Multifaith and Gratitude: How Do We Give Thanks?

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving in America, there is no better time to explore what different faith and community traditions have to have to say about the importance of showing gratitude and giving thanks.

This year has been quite the challenge for everyone, so it may be difficult at times to find things for which we should be grateful.

The AIFL has assembled a panel of faith and community leaders, to share how they have balanced this journey with expressions of gratitude and fostered an attitude of giving thanks in those around them.

We will receive greetings from Galit Peleg, the Interim Consul General of Israel for Miami, Florida. We'll hear our panelists Rabbi Rachel Greengrass, Pastor Carlos Ortiz, Father Roberto Cid, Abdool Ghanie, and Sri Sudarshan. Rabbi Eric J. Greenberg will moderate conversation about topics such as:

  • Practical steps to take in our own communities to strengthen our ability to manifest gratitude.
  • Sharing traditions of gratitude and personal expressions of giving thanks from around the world among different faiths.
  • In this time of pandemic, how can we elevate the importance of thanks. Can we foster gratitude in others?
