Picture of His Life: Capturing a Photographer’s Nature

What happens when a documentary filmmaker focuses his lens on a world-renowned nature photographer, who has traveled the world to capture some of the rarest and most exotic images. Enjoy some of the still photography and a few excerpts from the award-winning documentary "Picture of His Life" from Executive Producer Nancy Spielberg. Join us for a discussion with the filmmakers, directors and protagonist of the film. Featured in the program are: Amos Nachum, Protagonist: Amos Nachum began his career as a war photographer in his homeland of Israel and transitioned in his life journey to a wildlife photographer and explorer. Amos aims to raise awareness about threatened and endangered species using his camera and expeditions, promoting their conservation for future generations. Dani Menkin, Director: A two-time Israeli Academy Award winner, Dani Menkin's award-winning narrative and documentary films include Picture of His Life, On the Map, Aulcie, Dolphin Boy, 39 Pounds of Love, and Is That You? Dani currently lives with his family in Los Angeles. Yonatan Nir, Director: Yonatan Nir is an internationally acclaimed documentary filmmaker who grew up on a kibbutz in northern Israel, where he developed his passion for nature and adventure. In 2009, Nir received the prestigious "Asian Geographic Best of the Decade Award" for his work in photojournalism. Nir's professional career took an unexpected turn following an injury in the Second Lebanon War, and he began making documentaries about post-traumatic growth and empowerment. Women Ascending the Ranks in Today’s Military

Third in our ICONS series with Jewish Women International (JWI), we introduce three accomplished women leaders whose paths to success share a common foundation to their military service. Hear from a Retired Brigadier General and Retired Lt. General with the Israel Defense Forces as well as a Retired Vice-Admiral with the U.S. Navy about how their careers, during their military service, helped guide them to achieve success in the military and in their post-military careers. Each of these women have been trailblazers in the advancement of women’s opportunities within the military, including combat positions.
