Accessible Together: Scaling the Highest Mountains

Imagine yourself climbing one of the tallest mountains in the world like Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Now imagine doing that with a group of 27 people with various abilities and the use of 4 Trekkers. This webinar shares the remarkable firsthand story of a group of individuals, of varying abilities, who came together, learned from one another and achieved life lessons that have endured well beyond the summit of the mountain. Now in preparation for the third expedition in August 2021, we will meet the organizers from Friends of Access Israel and past expedition participants, one who developed the Paratrek enabling device. Since its establishment in 1991, Schneider Children's Medical Center has revolutionized the practice of pediatric medicine in the country and has been recognized as one of the leading pediatric institutions in the world. Founded by Irving and Helen Schneider from New York, who also promoted its legacy to serve as a Bridge to Peace between nations, the center has established a wide open-door policy, and was built solely for children up to age 18 as a tertiary care center, where all children irrespective of race, religion or nationality are treated. All pediatric disciplines are available alongside the most advanced technologies and techniques.
