AIFL Pastor/Educator Seminar: “Israel and the International Community”

By AIFL - Mar 15, 2016

There are several pro-Israel organizations that cater to Christians, who self-identify as “Christian Zionists.” The “Big 4” are: Christians United for Israel (CUFI); Bridges for Peace (BFP); the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (ICEJ); and Friends of Israel (FOI). All these organizations have some form of advocacy program that provides real information to use in combatting anti-Israel propaganda. There remains, however, a significant gap - a critical corollary need - for grass-roots, in-depth Israel advocacy seminars for local pastors and Christian educators who are key opinion shapers at the most basic day-to-day levels. AIFL Pastor/Educator seminars are filling this gap by reaching out to the leaders of Christian churches and schools with the right blend of pro-Israel information, inspiration and motivation. Congregation members and students also attend these programs. Each seminar program is by invitation only. Because the pro-Israel information we present is seldom covered in the local media, invitees are encouraged to personally reach out to their family or friends. By doing so, the effect of each program reaches far beyond the faith community as most participants are apt to share what they have learned with family, friends, business associates and the community at large. The AIFL also extends invitations to its leadership program and youth exchange alumni who live in the area. Sometimes AIFL program alumni join the seminar program and relate to the gathering their first time experience in Israel under the auspices of the America-Israel Friendship League. To sustain the impact of each program and to enhance each participant’s connection with Israel, the AIFL engages seminar attendees with a follow-on email. A special landing page on the AIFL website gives each seminar participant a vehicle whereby he or she may remain engaged with Israel through the America-Israel Friendship League. Jim Fletcher, an evangelical advocate for Israel, a writer, researcher, executive committee member of the National Christian Leadership Conference for Israel (NCLCI) and AIFL’s consultant for Interfaith Activities, is the chief presenter for each daylong seminar. Ambassador Uri Bar-Ner and Dr. Alex Grobman often give presentations via Skype.
