The AIFL commemorates the 50th visit to Israel of Reverend William H. Harter, a longstanding AIFL Board member!

Pastor Emeritus, Falling Spring Presbyterian Church & AIFL Board Member (PA)

Reverend William H. Harter was born in Titusville, PA and grew up on a farm in Western New York. Reverend Harter is Pastor Emeritus, The Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, Chambersburg, PA. He has served three churches over a 38 year period with his wife, The Rev. Linda B. Harter, of blessed memory, a PCUSA minister.

Rev. Harter received a Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary (NYC) in New Testament (focus: Judaism and Christian Origins).

He is a founding member, NCC Committee on Jewish-Christian Relations and NCC/National Conference of Catholic Bishops Israel Study Group. He is also a founding Member and National Secretary Treasurer, National Christian Leadership Conference for Israel. National Co-Convener, Committee on Jewish, Muslim, and Christian Relations.

Reverend Harter serves as National Co-Convener, Presbyterians for Middle East Peace and is a member of the national Board of Directors, America-Israel Friendship League and American Friends of Neot Kedumim.
