Elaine Weinstein Goldberg’s involvement with the AIFL evolved through a series of serendipitous events that came full circle, beginning almost 40 years ago when she met her husband, Leslie at AIFL’s former head office, Bnai Zion’s America-Israel Friendship House.
She traveled to Israel with us on our 2009 School Superintendents and Senior Education Administrators Delegation and retired shortly after. In lieu of gifts, Elaine generously encouraged those who came to honor her 35 year career as a consumate educator within the New York City public schools system, to support the AIFL’s mission.
It was with this selfless act that she embarked on a decade of volunteer service with the AIFL as the Educational Consultant to its Youth Ambassador Student Exchange (YASE) program where she continued to motivate and inspire young minds.
Elaine passed away on Friday, July 13th and leaves to mourn, her husband Leslie; mother, Sylvia; and sister, Barbara.
