Orchestrating a Musical Legacy: Introducing the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music

The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music is the fruit of a unique collaboration between Tel Aviv University and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

Inaugurated in 2004 on the foundation of the former Rubin Academy of Music, the School of Music is currently the foremost academic institution in Israel for training music professionals in performance, composition and music research.

We invite you to join us for a one-hour webinar to learn more about the School of Music, its history, community of students and faculty. Our webinar will feature Dr. Uri Rom, the new Head of the School, in conversation with colleagues from the various departments. We will share with you some highlights from the school’s activities, including past Gala concerts with the Honorary President of the School Maestro Zubin Mehta and a conducting workshop recently given by his successor at the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Maestro Lahav Shani.
